Notes for - James MacCormick b.1776.

James MacCormick was born ca.1776 - possibly a son of Donald MacCarmaig.

James married Marrion Graham. They had three sons and one daughter that I know of so far.

The death record for son John says he was married when he died in 1859 at the age of 45yrs - but not who to.

Marrion Graham's parents have been deduced for the following reason. Son John's SDR was signed by Dugald McMaster as the Informant. He signed himself as "Cousin Germain" - i.e. First Cousin.

To be a First Cousin you need to be the child of an Aunt or an Uncle. Dugald McMaster's parents were Hugh McMaster and Peggy McLean - neither a brother or sister of either of John's parents.

However, Dugald was married to Sarah Graham. Sarah's father was Angus Graham. Logic dictates, therfore, that Angus was a brother of Marrion Graham making Sarah Graham a first cousin of John McCormick. On Angus Graham's SDR his parents were shown as Alexander Graham and Cathrine McKichen.
