Hugh MacCormick may have been a brother of Neil, John, Margaret and Flora - but so far no proof.
He married Mary Paterson. Although all the children were born on Iona the family had moved away from the island by the 1881 census. I have traced five sons and three of the daughters so far.
Hugh also had a natural son (born out of wedlock) to Peggy McInnis, named Murdoch. Murdoch was baptised on 06/03/1831. Murdoch was living with Hugh and Mary Paterson's family in the 1841 census.
Hugh is in the 1841 Census as a Shoemaker age 50.
Hugh died in Creich on the 2nd. of December 1847. At the time he died he was an Elder of the Church (OPR).
