Notes for - Flora MacCormick b.ca.1849.

Flora MacCormick was the first daughter of John MacCormick b.ca.1816, and Mary McFarlane.

Flora was born in Canada.

Flora, born in Kirkfield, had married John Howe in Toronto, 2nd July 1884. The witnesses to her wedding were her brother, Neil McCormick and sister, Maggie. By the time of the 1901 census, John and Flora had two sons, John G. and Archibald A, and living with the family was Flora's sister, Catherine McCormick, age 47.

Flora’s death occurred 5th Aug 1917 in the Toronto General Hospital. The informant on the return was ‘Bates & Dodds’ which was a funeral service company in Toronto until 1930. Unfortunately, only the name of Flora’s father was filled in on the registration. The ‘place of birth’ on the form is Cannington. Her burial was in Prospect Cemetery, Toronto - the same cemetery in which her sister, Catherine, would be buried in 1923.
