Duncan MacCormick was the second natural ( illegitimate ) son of Neil MacCormick b.1788, and Flora MacArthur (OPR + SDR).
He married Margaret Howden in Greenock on 03/07/1846 (OPR). They had one son, called Duncan, that I have found so far (OPR).
Duncan (senior) was found in the 1871 census living West End Iona, with his half brother Neil, and described as an unemployed boilermaker. He was aged 57 and was a widower.
When he died in 1878, at Largs, he was an engine fitter (SDR). His death record was signed by his cousin Alexander McArthur who was living in Tradeston, Glasgow, at the time.
