Notes for - Angus MacCormick b.ca. 1785.

Angus MacCormick was born ca.1789 at Uisken, on Mull, Argyll, Scotland.

Angus married 12 April 1814 Argyll, Scotland Mary McLucais. Angus died probably in Scotland sometime after 1841 when the census was taken and before 1846 when his wife and some of his children left Scotland for Canada to be join others in the family that had emigrated earlier.

(The names of McLucais and McDougall sometime became interchangeable, according to 'Mull Family Names' by Jo Currie Currie. This does seem to be the case with this Mary McLucais that married Angus McCormick. however. the name McDougall was used as McDougald. This McDougald name associated with the Mary McLucais that married Angus McCormick was not found in Scotland research, but found of Mary McLucais in Canada. )

Mary McLucais/McDougald born about 1793 of Suie, Argyll, Scotland and died 10 Sept. 1878 in Durham, Gray Co., Ontario, Canada. Mary is buried at Rocky Pioneer Cemetery, Bentinck Township, Grey Co., Ontario. Her grave marker reads: Mary McDougald wife of Angus McCormick, formerly resident of the farm of Suie Ross, Isle of Mull, Argyleshire, immigrated in 1846 and died 10 September 1878. In 1846, Mary left Scotland with three sons and two daughters and went to Grey Co., Ontario, Canada to join two sons that had arrived there in 1843.

Children not included in the OPR's as children of Angus and Mary McCormick are Hugh born c 1821, Mary born c 1826 and Flora born c 1832. These three are listed in the 1841 census in the household of Angus McCormick and they have been accounted for in Ontario, Canada.

Donald McCormick 1818 and Alexander McCormick 1826 emigrated to Canada from Scotland in 1843.

Mary McLucais, Archibald, Hugh, John and two their sisters (believed to be Mary and Flora) emigrated in 1846 to Canada from Scotland.
