Alexander MacCormick was the sixth son of John MacCormick b.ca.1816, and Mary McFarlane.

Alexander was born in Canada.

Alexander McCormick died when he was just 22 years of age, on the 13th January 1885. The informant on the death registration was Andrew McIntrye, a neighbor; Alexander had died of exposure; his death was in Eldon Township, County of Victoria.
